Background

As part of our continued relationship with British Gas, we are often approached to organise and attend a variety of events as representatives for Generation Green: The sustainability education programme from British Gas.

Our aim

Our focus at every event is to secure engagement and an understanding of the resource aims. Our extensive knowledge of the education programme and ability to communicate with teachers – on an educational level – means that we are competent to act as the first point of contact at key events and conferences.

What did we do?

Since 2008, we have helped to organise and attend the following educational events on behalf of British Gas – Generation Green:

  • The Education Show – Birmingham NEC
  • The TES Show – Olympia, London
  • The NAHT – Brighton
  • Education 2010 – The QE2, London

At each event, we are responsible for the event stand, along with the distribution of branded promotional materials (including recycled bags, brochures and flyers) to teachers. By engaging with teachers face-to-face, we generate a positive response, increase engagement levels and raise awareness for the work British Gas does.

Event attendance means we are able to physically sign up unregistered teachers to Generation Green, fulfilling the project’s key objective. To further stimulate interest in the programme, we also deliver seminars at key events. This allows us to more clearly convey the structured teaching assets on offer to teachers and stakeholders. In addition, we are able to leverage appeal and secure engagement among a captive audience.
