British Gas in partnership with Edexcel

An engaging, interactive resource supporting the Sustainability Skills BTEC

Background

As part of their long term commitment to sustainability education, British Gas partnered with Edexcel and commissioned EC to create a suite of learning resources to support teachers in the delivery of the BTEC in Sustainability Skills qualification.

Aim

To create a suite of resources which not only engage and excite students about the subject of sustainability, but also provide the practical tools teachers need to deliver the qualification.

What did we do?

We developed a fully interactive, introductory project which is both thought-provoking and debate focused. This works to provide teachers with an engaging context with which to introduce students to the multi-faceted topic of sustainability.

In addition, we have produced a suite of class materials which provide ideas, practical activities, team working tasks and support for both teachers and students.

The resources are delivered via a downloadable contained Flash file – enabling schools to make just one download then save them onto multiple systems or their network drive, making them user and environmentally friendly!

Results

The resources launched in July 2011.
